An online conference on histology has started

On December 3, 2021, at the Department of Histology, Cytology and Embryology of KNMU, the student educational-research abstract internet conference “Modern ideas about the development, micromorphological structure and functions of human organs” started its work. The conference is based on the platform google-meet.

During the first section, 2nd year students Ovcharenko Nina, Ulyanova Lana, Chirashna Sofia, Shafranetska Violetta, Chunikhovska Elina made reports. The following issues were considered: the role of polyploid hepatocytes in the functioning of the liver parenchyma; modern ideas about the morphology of the thymus; cardiospecific troponins as valuable biomarkers of heart muscle damage; molecular basis and diagnostic criteria for male infertility; histological zones of the hippocampus and their comparative characteristics. The presented reports were accompanied by lively discussions, aroused interest in the student audience, received a positive assessment of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department. The conference will continue its work on December 10, 2021 at 15.00. During the second section, the results of the research will be presented by students of the 6th and 7th medical faculties; the language of the second section of the conference is English. The following issues will be discussed: heart embryogenesis and dysembryogenesis; gene targeting and gene therapy; influence of weightlessness on different systems and organs; adipous tissue as an endocrine organ; role of Kupffer cells in liver regeneration.
