Professor of the KhNMU completed an internship in Warsaw
From October 30 to November 30, 2023, within the framework of the international STOP CANCER project, the head of the department of general and clinical pathophysiology named after D.O. Alpern professor Mykhailo Myroshnychenko completed an internship at the Medical University of Warsaw.
Professor Mykhailo Myroshnychenko became the winner of the STOP CANCER scholarship project for pathologists, organized by the Rotary Club Warsaw City and Medical University of Warsaw. The internship took place at the Department of Pathomorphology, which is headed by professor Agnieszka Perkowska-Ptasińska. Currently, the department has a histopathological laboratory, an immunohistochemical laboratory, a molecular genetics and cytogenetics laboratory, and an electron microscopy laboratory.
During the internship, Mykhailo Myroshnychenko got acquainted with the organization of the educational process at the department, the peculiarities of the pathology service. Under the guidance of famous Polish morphologists, workers of the department, – professor Barbara Górnicka, associate professor Magdalena Bogdańska, professor Agnieszka Perkowska-Ptasińska and other Mr. Mykhailo improved his knowledge and skills in histological and cytological diagnosis of tumor and non-tumor pathology of the human body. A team approach and constant cooperation with the clinicians who treated and examined the patient is characteristic of Polish morphologists in the diagnosis of pathology.
During his stay in Warsaw, the professor discussed the issue of cooperation between the Kharkiv National Medical University and Medical University of Warsaw. As a result of the discussion, the foundations were laid for the signing of a bilateral agreement, the purpose of which is educational mobility for students and university employees within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
During business trip to Warsaw, professor Mykhailo Myroshnychenko also met with the representatives of the publishing house of scientific medical journals ALUNA: director Anna Łuczyńska, scientific editor and head of the international cooperation department Lesia Rudenko, head of the subscription department Bartosz Guterman. During the meeting, issues of mutual cooperation in educational and scientific processes were discussed.
The internship at the Medical University of Warsaw was a good opportunity to improve the level of knowledge and skills in pathology, to find new contacts for further international cooperation, and motivation to implement the acquired knowledge and skills in practical activities and educational process at the university.
