Trench candles – for the Armed Forces!

On February 5, students of the public education and volunteering sector of the Student Government of KhNMU together with the owners of the Kharkiv coffee shop “L.I. Coffee” organized an event for the production of trench candles for the military in the Donetsk region.

The main goal was the production of trench candles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the whole day, students and everyone else learned and took part in all the processes of making candles: from cutting cardboard to melting and pouring paraffin. The atmosphere of the event was very friendly, welcoming and kind, all the volunteers were enthusiastic about their work, because they knew that it was for the benefit of our army. A total of 140 trench candles were made, and according to our volunteers, this is just the beginning!

Trench candles can illuminate or heat and dry a small room in emergency conditions, which is very important for our soldiers at the front.

During the event, English volunteers visited the coffee shop, who were impressed by the love of the medical students for their Motherland and wished for the fastest victory and a peaceful life.

We are very grateful to the Kharkiv coffee shop “L.I. Coffee” for giving us the opportunity to organize and hold the event. Julia and Ivan were happy to help us both with making candles and with delicious coffee. We express our greatest gratitude to our soldiers and defenders who are fighting for us and our future.
