Guided Tour of Kharkiv for Professor Jacob Stegena
As part of Professor Jacob Stegena’s visit to Kharkiv National Medical University, a guided tour of Kharkiv was organized.
Kateryna Karpenko, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences, and staff members of the “Museum of Medicine” Complex, accompanied by Vice Rector Oleksii Trotsenko, introduced the professor to the city’s history as well as the realities of modern-day Kharkiv.
During the tour, Professor Jacob Stegena visited the buildings of Kharkiv National Medical University that were damaged by Russian shelling, as well as areas of the city that were most affected by the war.
Getting to know Kharkiv gave the guest the opportunity not only to see the consequences of military aggression but also to feel the resilience of the city, its academic community, and its residents, who continue to teach, learn, treat patients, and advance science despite all challenges.
At the conclusion of his visit, Professor Jacob Stegenga expressed his sincere gratitude for the meeting and the opportunity to get to know Kharkiv better, and wished Ukraine a swift victory.
