The staff of the department conducts significant sports and mass and educational work with university students. Sections for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, powerlifting, futsal, arm sports, checkers, chess, etc. worked at the university to attract students to sports. To popularize sports, stands with photos of the best KhNMU athletes have been created, the results of the competition are published on the official website of KhNMU.
Student-athletes and teachers of the department have actively participated in competitions of the highest levels for the past three years. At the international level, the student of the Faculty of Dentistry, Tretyakova Iryna, won the World Championship and the European Cup among juniors in archery (2021); senior teacher Kutsiy D.V. (FIFA referee) participated in the organization and conduct of group tournaments and the final part of the World and European Futsal Championships (2022-2023). At the state level, the winners were: senior teacher Poruchikov V.V. – winner of the Championship of Ukraine in weightlifting (2021), Tretyakova Iryna – winner of the Cup of Ukraine in archery (2022 and 2023), student of the 1st year of the 4th medical faculty of Yarmak Iryna, winner of the Championship of Ukraine in archery (2023), student of the 1st medical faculty Bondar Dmytro took first place at the All-Ukrainian student charity chess tournament (2023).
Every year, teachers of the department and students are involved in the events of the All-Ukrainian Olympic Week under the patronage of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

- Open Online Chess and Checkers Championship among KhNMU employees (January 26-27, 2023 on the world-famous Shess.com platform).
- Online competition of videos “Sports – the basis of a healthy lifestyle” (February 16 –March 16, 2023).
- Chess tournament among students (March 15, 2023, Сhess.com platform).
- Championship in arm sports among students of KhNMU (April 13, 2023).
- Kettlebell tournament (September 15, 2023).
- Video competition “Olympic philosophy and healthy lifestyle” (September 11-30, 2023).
