Sweets for the soldiers of the Armed Forces

Many of us recently were able to celebrate New Year’s holidays in our warm homes with our loved ones, and also had the opportunity to taste our favorite foods, receive gifts, watch holiday TV shows and concerts, and even put up a decorated Christmas tree at home. We got all this this year thanks to our defenders, who every day, no matter what, courageously defended and are defending every piece of our land.

Over the course of two months, January and February, the team of the public education and volunteering sector of the Student Government of KhNMU organized the distribution of sweets for our military several times as part of the “Sweets for the Armed Forces” project.

The promotion consists of the following: all those who want to join can prepare their own goodies: cookies, cupcakes, gingerbread, etc.; the main thing is that they do not spoil quickly.
Separately, we would like to express our gratitude to the Department of Neurology of KhNMU, namely, Doctor of Medicine, Associate Professor Olena Markovskaya, who joined the action with her family. With her help, volunteers were able to send packages for our defenders several times:
• On January 10, a package with New Year’s gingerbread, cookies and other sweets was handed over to troops from the 92nd brigade in the Kharkiv direction.
• February 4 – a package that contained tea, coffee, biscuits and other sweets.

We would also like to express special thanks to the Department of Medical Genetics, namely to Olena Martemyanova, who together with her daughter prepared delicious cookies and wrote letters for the military.

An important stage was high-quality packaging and transportation, so that, first of all, it was convenient for military personnel to eat sweets. For this, a lot of packaging materials were used – paper and blue-yellow ribbons to package cookies in portions. Also, greeting cards for our military were added to each package, which were written by students and employees of KhNMU from the bottom of their hearts. There were those who even wrote a separate letter to our defenders to support them.

Thanks to this project, everyone was able to treat our defenders with goodies that were made with warmth and love. Each cookie, which was tasted with warm tea, gave our soldiers strength and even greater faith in the coming Victory.
