To World Cancer Research Day

On September 24, the team of the public education and volunteering sector of the Student Self-Government of KhNMU celebrated World Cancer Research Day by holding an educational event related to this disease. These September events in the third decade of the month have a traditional annual character.

The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the importance of cancer research to increase survival. This disease is the second leading cause of death in the world, killing 10 million people every year.

The event was aimed at supporting and promoting methods of research into the origin or causes, prevention and early detection of cancer as a key element in the fight against this disease, leading to its sustainable control.

The following topics were considered at the event:

• Cancer: symptoms, causes;
• Types of cancer, stages of the disease;
• Basic screenings for disease detection;
• Prevention, recommendations on how to prevent cancer

After each presentation, interested students had the opportunity to ask questions that interested them. Also, according to tradition, a quiz was held with the help of the Quizziz program, where the participants could test their knowledge and based on the results of which the most successful winners received certificates.

The event aroused the interest of the listeners, and the speakers correctly and professionally conveyed the importance of this disease.
