The meeting of the Library Council of KNMU
December 15, a regular meeting of the KNMU Library Council with a renewed composition and a new format was held. The head of the KNMU Library Council, vice-rector for scientific work prof. Valeriy Myasoedov congratulated the newly elected members of the Library Council and invited them to discuss current issues of information and library support activities of all areas of the university. Iryna Kyrychok, director of the Scientific library, emphasized that interaction at all levels is important for the university, library specialists are always ready to provide any assistance to both student and scholar and promote library services, but they need feedback from users to improve their activities.
Members of the Library Board and invited participants proposed for discussion current issues, among them: the problematic issues in the information support of the scientific work of the departments, the book supply of educational process with textbooks and manuals, maintaining a balance between the formation of collections of printed publications and electronic resources, spread of academic integrity and features of work with anti-plagiarism system, the importance of cultural and educational activities of the library together with the departments, especially for first-year international students, the need to find new formats for online interaction between the library and users.
At the end, the head of the KNMU Library Council Valeriy Myasoedov emphasized that for the successful work of the Council it is necessary to continue to actively discuss problematic issues and in brainstorming mode find solutions.
