Event for Children's Day

On June 1, in honor of the Day of Children’s Protection, the team of the public education and volunteering sector of the Student Government of KhNMU visited children and teenagers in the Kharkiv Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital and held a “Veseliy Consilium” event for them as part of the “Little Doctor” project.

The event in honor of Children’s Day consisted of two parts – educational and entertaining. During the first part, medical students, together with children and teenagers, analyzed the main components of human growth and development in the format of a dialogue between students and children. During the dialogue, emphasis was placed on simply explaining to children what proteins, fats and carbohydrates are, especially, and what their main role is in human life.

After that, the students conducted a quiz to the children, during which the students showed the pictures that are responsible for a certain macronutrient, and the children answered what it is and what are its main functions. All the children enthusiastically participated in the quiz, after which they independently tried to tell and repeat all the important information they learned during the event.

During the entertainment part, the game “Crocodile” was played.

Children, teenagers and their parents, together with medical students, were delighted with the event. The highest reward for our volunteers is to hear sincere words of thanks after their work, as well as to receive many pleasant emotions from children and teenagers and even their parents, which happened during and after the event.

The children in the hospital are already waiting for further events.
