In search of new areas of cooperation
Despite the complete evacuation of foreign KhNMU students from Kharkiv due to the onset of full-scale russian federation invasion of Ukraine and the transition to hybrid learning (online at KhNMU and in-person through the International Academic Mobility Program in partner universities in Georgia), our English-speaking students remain with us and even attempt to assist the University in exploring new avenues of cooperation. For instance, during the face-to-face session of the international scientific-practical conference “Current Issues of Higher Medical Education Pedagogy”; held at KhNMU on May 28, 2024, Michail Staroselskiy, (Canada) VII Faculty for International Students at KhNMU, made an oral presentation in collaboration with representatives of “Tax Accounting and Business Solutions”company (Calgary, Canada) on potential cooperation opportunities between KhNMU and Canadian universities. The presentation was delivered in English in the section “Peculiarities of the pedagogical component of the educational space of institutions of higher medical education: international experience”; Michail made a presentation with Ella Avakyan, a representative of the Ukrainian diaspora in the Canadian province of Alberta, sparked interest among the audience and led to lively discussion in the conference.
We are proud of our foreign students and are very grateful to them and their parents forsupporting KNMU and the city of Kharkiv during the war! We hope for further productive cooperation with Canadian medical universities, believe in victory, and support Ukraine!
