"Doctors Without Borders" International Humanitarian Organization has been working in Kharkiv
Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the civilian population of our country did not disregard the whole civilized world, all of them who has the opportunity to support, do something and try to contribute, including assisting the medical community in this time.
On April 2, 2022, the specialists of the independent international medical humanitarian organization ‘Doctors Without Borders’ have arrived in Kharkiv, which has been operating in the city under the auspices of the Department of Health of the Kharkiv’s MCA. This group had included five doctors from the US, France and Senegal. They have taken the humanitarian aid to the city with the necessary medicines and will have planned to work here for two weeks. At this time, the missionaries will have counselled patients who have been staying in the underground for more than a month, conducting training for medical staff and providing counselling medical and surgical care.
The representatives of the Kharkiv National Medical University also had joined the mission and the students will be working as volunteers and interpreters, accompanying the missionaries and distributing humanitarian aid to the needy people.
The Head of the Department of Health Maxim Khaustov had said during the meeting: “We are grateful to the representatives of the international organization for humanitarian aid for attention to Ukrainians’ suffering from Russia’s military aggression. I am want to thank the students of KhNMU who perform their professional and civic duties and all those who care about the destiny of our compatriots. The whole progressive world and we have been going together to victory since the first day after this war has started.”
