The Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics was established on September 1, 2014. The department is headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Olga Illivna Zalyubovska.
The main activities of the department include: educational, scientific, methodological, medical-diagnostic and consulting work.
Educational activity consists in training applicants for higher education in specialty 224 “Technologies of medical diagnostics and treatment” of the first (bachelor’s) level (EPP is accredited, the decision was made at a meeting on April 8, 2021, protocol № 5 (48)), the second (master’s) level (EPP is accredited, the decision was made at the meeting on January 28, 2020, protocol № 2 (19) .2.157) and the third (Doctor of Philosophy) level (the ESP is accredited, the decision was made at the meeting on February 15, 2020, protocol № 24 (41)).
Teaching selected educational components for applicants for higher education incl. foreign students in the specialties 221 “Dentistry”, 222 “Medicine”, 227 “Physical therapy, occupational therapy”. Interns in the specialty of laboratory diagnostics study at the department, there is a postgraduate course and courses of thematic improvement are taught.
Scientific directions of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics on an initiative topic: “Optimization of algorithms for laboratory diagnosis of orthopedic diseases and predicting their complications during conservative and surgical treatment” and “Development of biomechanically based methods of rehabilitation treatment for diseases and injuries of the pelvis” (together with rehabilitation medicine, physical therapy and occupational therapy), “The embodiment of new methods of laboratory and functional diagnostics in the clinic of internal diseases” (together with the laboratory “Metrolab” SE “Kharkivstandartmetrologiya”).
The department team began work with Mercy College, New York State, as part of the EPP «Laboratory Diagnostics». The possibility of internship, training and obtaining double diplomas is being considered.

Student scientific circle of the department in 2020-2021 consisted of 18 students of educational level “Bachelor” 3-4 courses and 7 students of the ROC “Master” specialty “Technologies of medical diagnostics and treatment, specialization” Laboratory diagnostics “.
Student scientific research is carried out on the basis of the clinical diagnostic laboratory of the educational and scientific medical complex “University Clinic” KhNMU.
The main scientific direction of the student scientific circle is modern issues of laboratory medicine.
