Events were held for World Donor Day

In honor of World Donor Day, which took place on June 14, the Student Self-Government of the Khzn National Medical University together with the Trade Union Organization of the Khn National Medical University organized two blood drives, which took place on June 13 and 14.

Аlmost 30 medical students visited Biopharma Plasma to donate plasma. In addition, KhNMU activists prepared a special event, the program of which included the “Ex&Ex|Express Experience” master class, during which you could get basic knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, learn the technique of correct blood pressure measurement, and information on the basic concepts of glucose level in the blood and methods of its measurement.

There was also a ceremonial awarding ceremony of student ambassadors and the administration of KhNMU for the involvement of KhNMU students in plasma donation. All representatives and volunteers were also invited to a festive treat.

It is important to remember that donating plasma and blood is not just helping others, but also an opportunity to do good, to have constant motivation for a healthy lifestyle, and to monitor your health for free! Every year, it saves thousands of lives, because there is an urgent need for donor plasma and blood, from which vital drugs are made for patients with a number of diseases: children with cancer and adults after chemotherapy and radiation therapy, premature babies and newborns from women who had complications under during pregnancy and childbirth, people with developmental disabilities, patients with hemophilia, wounded, injured during road accidents, victims of fires and disasters, patients with severe covid pneumonia.

With the beginning of a full-scale war, the donation of plasma and whole blood became extremely necessary in our country. The Student Self-Government of KhNMU and the Trade Union Organization express their sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the donor days, as well as to the management and staff of Biopharma Plasma Kharkiv and the Kharkiv Regional Blood Service Center. Multiple donations of whole blood and plasma from KhNMU are planned, as well as further cooperation with blood and plasma donation centers.
