Events were held for the Occupational Therapist Day
On October 28, 2024, an offline event for KNMU students was held on the topic “World Occupational Therapy Day and Occupational Therapist’s Day” at the KNMU University Clinic, organized by the Media Sector of the Student Government of KNMU and the Student Council of the ІV Medical Faculty of KNMU.
Occupational therapy is a type of therapy that uses work and various activities as methods for treatment and restoration of physical and mental health.
Its goal is to support, restore, and ensure human activity in an autonomous and effective way. It helps reduce disability rates by taking into account individuals’ environments and habits.
An occupational therapist serves as a mediator between a person’s adaptation needs and the demands of everyday life in society. These specialists consider the specifics of a condition and are aware of which additional professionals should be consulted. This comprehensive analysis allows the occupational therapist to suggest what can be supplemented, changed, or adapted in the rehabilitation process and the person’s environment.
The event covered the following topics:
- Fundamentals and principles of occupational therapy.
- The role of the occupational therapist in rehabilitation.
- Technologies and innovations in occupational therapy.
- Social aspects of occupational therapy.
Students actively participated in a quiz, achieving great results and confirming their knowledge on the subject.
We thank all the students who attended the event and demonstrated their engagement and interest in this relevant topic.
