An international conference was held
On May 27-28, the International (Mixed: Offline and Online) Conference “Voices from Ukraine: History of Women Philosophers and Scientists in Wartime” was co-organized by the Center for Gender Education of Kharkiv National Medical University and the Center for History of Women Philosophers and Scientists at the University of Paderborn Germany).
The President of the University of Paderborn, Professor Birgitt Rigraf, addressed the conference with a welcoming speech.
On the Ukrainian side, the Vice-Rector for Research of Kharkiv National University, Professor Valery Myasoyedov, made a welcoming speech.
The next speaker was Elke Ferner, former Secretary of State and President of the UN-Women of Germany.
Prof. Ruth Hagengruber, Director of the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists Program, welcomed the conference participants and spoke about the idea of holding the conference as a platform for exchanging views on the life trajectories of women scientists during the war and their prospects.
