KhNMU student took part in the exchange programme
From October 30 to November 6, 2024, Sofia Shevchenko, a student from the 3rd Medical Faculty and representative of the PO “Student Government of KNMU”, participated in the Ukrainian-Lithuanian student exchange program organized by the Ukrainian Association of Students in the cities of Vinnytsia and Kyiv.
The primary goal of the project was to assist the youth of both countries in understanding the challenges of wartime, exchange positive practices in youth policy and higher education, strengthen cooperation and partnerships for the development of student initiatives aimed at overcoming the consequences of war, and promote awareness about the needs of Ukrainian students in Ukraine and Lithuania.
Key objectives achieved during the exchange included:
- Familiarizing participants with the cultural peculiarities of both countries and enhancing intercultural dialogue.
- Improving student development in Ukraine and Lithuania.
- Exchanging positive practices regarding student participation in decision-making at university, regional, and national levels.
- Supporting youth initiatives aimed at overcoming the consequences of war.
- Discussing the quality of education in each country and proposing initiatives to improve educational activities.
During the exchange, the following higher education institutions were visited Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University, Vinnytsia National Technical University, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv School of Economics.
The student governance demonstrated their readiness and enthusiasm for further collaboration!
The exchange between Ukrainian and Lithuanian student council representatives provided a platform for sharing experiences, ideas, and best practices in student self-governance. Participants shared their achievements, challenges, and visions for the development of the student movement in both countries. A key outcome was the unification of efforts for future cooperation and the implementation of joint projects aimed at improving students’ learning and living conditions.
“This exchange showed us that despite cultural differences, we are united by common values and aspirations,” Sofia remarked.
