A representative of KhNMU took part in an international symposium
From August 1 to 7, 2025, Kateryna Karpenko, Head of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences and Director of the Center for Gender Education of KNMU, took part in the XXI Symposium of the International Association of Women Philosophers, which was held at the University of Tokyo, Japan.
At the plenary session, Prof. Karpenko gave a report, “Analytical Framework for the Study of Women’s Experience and Female Subjectivity in Wartime”. The report “Women and Digital Technologies in Wartime” aroused interest and broad discussion at the panel session “EcoTechGender. Women Philosophers on Economics, Ecology and Technology”. Another report on female leadership was made at the session “Women Philosophers in the Academic Space: Achievements, Obstacles, Challenges”.
An essential component of the symposium participation was the moderation of the section “Perspectives of Women Philosophers in Asian Countries” and the discussion with representatives of De Gruyter Publishing House of the publication of a collective monograph (EcoTechGender series).
Prof. Karpenko was elected to the IAPh board at the International Association of Women Philosophers assembly on August 5, 2025.
