KhNMU signed a memorandum with Azerbaijan Medical University

From 30 October to 2 November 2025, Oksana Nakonechna, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work at Kharkiv National Medical University, as part of a delegation from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine headed by Minister Viktor Lyashko, made a working visit to Baku (Republic of Azerbaijan).

During the visit, a memorandum of partnership was signed between Kharkiv National Medical University and Azerbaijan Medical University. The document provides for the expansion of cooperation in the fields of education, science and clinical practice. The main areas of cooperation include:

• Educational partnership — academic mobility of students and teachers, implementation of professional development programmes, development of double degree programmes, organisation of training courses in combat trauma medicine at KhNMU.
• Scientific cooperation — creation of an Azerbaijani-Ukrainian consortium of medical universities for joint participation in international grants, conferences, symposiums and scientific and practical events.
• Clinical cooperation — exchange of clinical experience, conducting simulations, master classes, developing joint treatment protocols and creating educational and clinical programmes.

The partnership between the universities will promote the exchange of experience, the professional development of medical specialists and the development of the healthcare systems of both countries.
