Erasmus Days 2025 at Kharkiv National Medical University
On October 15, 2025, Kharkiv National Medical University hosted an international hybrid-format conference as part of the European Erasmus Days 2025, which unites over 10,000 events across 60 countries worldwide. This year’s theme – “Live our values, inspire our future” – is especially meaningful for KhNMU, which continues to actively develop international partnerships even in times of war.
The conference was opened by First Vice-Rector for Research and Education, Nataliia Savielieva, who shared her experience of participating in the Staff Training Week mobility programme at Çukurova University (Adana, Turkey). She emphasized that even during martial law, KhNMU remains an active member of the European academic community. In turn, Head of the International Office of Çukurova University, Semra Sadik Krupka, also joined the event with a welcoming address to the participants.
A greeting was also delivered by Kateryna Zhdanova, Manager of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, who highlighted the resilience of Kharkiv’s academic community and expressed gratitude to the University for initiating the event within the Erasmus+ Week in the Kharkiv region.
During the conference, participants presented the results of international cooperation under the Erasmus+ KA171 programme (academic mobility with partner countries), as well as the outcomes of KhNMU’s three-year participation in the Erasmus+ KA2 project SimS – “Simulation Medicine and Scenario-Based Training in Emergency Care.” Particular attention was given to student training cases and internships conducted at partner universities in Lithuania, Austria, Poland, and Turkey. The event brought together representatives of the university administration, academic staff, students, and guests from other universities who joined online.
The celebration of Erasmus Days 2025 in Kharkiv became a symbol of the resilience of Ukrainian education – its openness to the world and its continuous pursuit of growth and development. Once again, KhNMU proved that international cooperation is not only about sharing experiences but also a powerful instrument of support that inspires even in the most challenging times.
