Research interests of the department

Improvement and development of new methods of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of patients with pathology of the hard tissues of the teeth, periodontium and oral mucosa; formation of dental disorders in persons with a history of perinatal pathology and their prevention and treatment; application of laser technologies in the treatment of dental pathology; mathematical modulation in dentistry; conductometric method of research for differentiated choice of means of prevention of demineralization of tooth enamel; historical development of odontology (dentistry) in Ukraine.

Research at the department is carried out in accordance with a comprehensive plan of scientific research of Kharkiv National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and is part of the overall research topic on “Dentistry” “The nature, structure and treatment of major dental diseases”, № state. registration 0116U004975.

Scientific and practical conferences held by the department:

In 2015, the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry launched scientific and practical conferences with international participation “Hofung readings”.

In 2005, a scientific-practical conference with international participation “Hofung readings” was launched as part of the celebration of the 210th anniversary of KhNMU and the International Dentist’s Day.

In 2016, a scientific-practical conference with international participation “Hofung readings” was held, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of Kharkiv National Medical University and the 140th anniversary of the birth of its founder, Professor E. M. Gofung.

Scientific and practical conferences are held together with the GO “Kharkiv Regional Branch of the Association of Dentists of Ukraine”. In recent years: “The use of lasers in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery”; “Topical dentistry.
