On May 20, the meeting of the scientific group took place online. The format of the meeting was an open lecture-discussion. The topic was chosen by the students themselves during a previous interactive survey. Students of IV–V courses chose to discuss the latest approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of myocardial infarction. The event was hosted by the assistant of the department, Doctor of Philosophy Dmytro Martovytsky.

The presentation was based on the interpretation and explanation of the latest recommendations (Guidelines) on the current issue – Acute coronary syndromes, NICE guideline [NG185] 2020; 2021 AHA / ACC / ASE / CHEST / SAEM / SCCT / SCMR Guideline for the Evaluation and Diagnosis of Chest Pain; 2017 Guidelines on Management of Acute Myocardial Infarction in Patients Presenting with ST-Segment Elevation, ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines, and 2020 ESC Guidelines for the management of acute coronary syndromes in patients presenting without persistent ST-segment elevation: The Task Force for the management of acute coronary syndromes in patients presenting without persistent ST-segment elevation of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).

An interactive survey conducted after the lecture showed that the meeting had very positive feedback from the audience. Such additional communication of teachers of the Department of Internal and Occupational Diseases with students based on students’ the most interested in topics contributes to a more effective educational process, makes it more student-centered and raises motivation and academic success.
